For this post, I linked a video that goes into the science
of productivity and how we can utilize that to get the most out of our
productivity. The part that I found most applicable to me to stop procrastination
is getting started. I know once I sit down and start working, I won’t get
distracted and I’ll be done sooner than I think, yet I never want to. It is explained
in the video that this is because the brain imagines hardest parts to come. The
Zeigarnki Effect compels people to finish a task they started. If we don’t finish,
we experience discomfort and intrusive thoughts. I have definitely felt this
before and it really helps me get things completed or else I can’t stop
thinking about it.

Great video! I also read about the Zeigarnik effect in the book that I did my book report on "Rediscovering the Greatest Human Strength: Willpower" by Roy F. Baumeister and John Tierney. Such interesting concepts like ego depletion, planned relaxation, and I really liked the Accountability Chart idea from the video.
