We find in part 5 that the men continue to be tested. Although they reach land, have more sources of food and are able to sleep better and more soundly, the weather remains cold and unforgiving. Also, Shackleton decides to take a few men and head for South Georgia. He is gone for a very long time. I could not imagine being one of the men on the island, wondering if Shackleton would ever return. Constantly being unsure of whether or not the wait was a waste of time and Shackleton and the men were dead somewhere. If I were one of the men I doubt I would be able to stand the madness and would probably go crazy. Props to them for sticking through it and not giving up.
