Obesity has always been a large issue in America, and are one of the top causes of death. Throughout the years the people have lost their touch of eating healthy because there is fast food out there that they can get on the go. The crazy aspect of it all is that obesity is preventable. Although obesity is global but right here in the U.S.A in the state of Mississippi 1 in 4 people are obese. This video goes in depth of how one of our well known fast food franchises are killing America and how they are not healthy for our bodies. They target any where form kids to adults, they do this by having happy meals with toys as an incentive for children and the option to supersize for adults. You waste more money eating at a fast food restaurant rather than eating a healthy meal. This video serves as a motivation to take precaution as to watch what you intake and the long-term effects it will have on you and your family.

I just want to give my opinion on this subject matter. I don’t think we should give so much blame on the fast food companies for the obesity epidemic we have with the children in America. It’s the parents who should be the ones to blame. They buy the fast food and put it in front of their children to eat. We need to stop blaming everyone else for our problems and take charge of our life’s and do a better job at eating better. I was very surprised to hear that we have a big problem with obesity. Thanks for your pick of a you tube video. After seeing it, I don’t want to eat another fast food burger for a will.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the parents are lazy these days when it comes to taking care of their children, they don't seem to give them a healthy diet. I am 22 and I remember my parents RARELY ever took me to McDonald's or any fast food place because of how unhealthy it is for you. Today I work as a server in a restaurant and I see little boys and girls come in and order so much food and eat it all, and the place I work at, the food is great but it's not the healthiest food out there it's an Italian restaurant and the fact that the parents are not picking the food items for the children bothers me, the kid will get a temper and the parents say all the time "just give them what they want". They say that so the child behaves and is good, but in the long run it's not healthy for them. I see 10 year old kids who are extremely over weight and it doesn't seem like the parents are concerned about it at all. America's new generations are growing up extremely over weight, and soon America is going to be all fat people it needs to stop...I also posted a video as well I am sure we have all seen the movie Wall-E.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the past two comments, these fast food restaurants should not be blammed. Fast food is not good, however it is not bad if you rarely eat it, and only eat it every now and then. I have seen this video before, and every time I am shocked that obesity kills people second to smoking. America as a society needs to learn how to eat healthy and cook for themselves to prevent this from continuing.
ReplyDeleteI agree. We as a nation started as a bunch of rebels & now it is to our own detriment because we are not holding ourselves accountable for our own actions both on a micro/individual level & on a macro/national level. I will not be surprised if those who say we are the next Rome, we will corrupt & fall into ourselves are correct.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree on obesity being solely the parents' fault. They serve as the role models and the decision makers as the child begins to mature. If parents allow such waste to be put into their child's bodies when they're young, the child will only become accustomed to eating so badly that they'll carry on with fast food nonchalantly through out their lives. It is amazing that 1 in 4 people are obese when it is something that's actually preventable!
ReplyDeleteFast food companies are based on convenience and with that convenience comes cheaply made, fatty foods. I think that as a consumer we need to pay better attention to the things we are buying and what exactly we're putting into our body. Sooner than later all restaurants are going to be required to have the calorie and fat count on their menu's and drive thru menu's and this will hopefully show people that things need to change.
